The Multisport Adventure Race is without a doubt the highlight of the Grand Raid. It will gather the best teams in the world as well as high level national and regional teams.
The formula:
Each team will be composed of 4 team members with at least one woman.
The race route:
5 days of a staged race with about 450km for the race.
Each day the teams will do a series of different sporting disciplines from the starting town to the next town on the route.
The team assistants will be in charge of transporting the teams gear to the different transitions. Teams should have at least one who knows how to navigate.
The maps used will be primarily IGN scaled 1/25 OOO but certain sections will be done using IOF orienteering maps.
The maps will be printed with the CP’s (check points) and any obligatory itinerary to be followe
The race route will remain a secret up to the last minute.
Length:
A stage race: 5 days of competition, six to eight hour daily stages with a bivouac each night.
Proposed disciplines: Mountain biking, Orienteering, Kayak, Rollerblading, Bike and Run, Trail, Rope work.
Who is adventure racing for?
It’s designed for participants who are polyvalent in their sports and necessitates strong technical skills and sound physical preparation.
